Istanbul’s Palace Collections Museum (Saray Koleksiyonları Müzesi) Art Gallery in Beşiktaş is set to host a remarkable exhibition of calligraphy by the renowned artist Mustafa Cemil Efe. The exhibition, titled “Tecelli”, will open on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 2:30 PM, with contributions from Enderun Sanat.
About the Artist
Born in Ankara in 1979, Mustafa Cemil Efe discovered his passion for the art of calligraphy after a diverse journey through creative fields, including cinema, theater, and radio. Graduating from Selçuk University’s Faculty of Fine Arts, the artist moved to Istanbul in 2009, where he began exploring calligraphy deeply.
Initially practicing riq’a script, he progressed rapidly, earning his Ijaza (calligraphy certification) in just two years and eight months. His devotion to hüsn-i hat transformed his life, turning calligraphy into a way of living. Over his career, he has participated in more than 200 national and international exhibitions, establishing himself as one of Anatolia’s most prolific calligraphers. Efe emphasizes the spiritual dimensions of his art, viewing it as a means to convey the verses of God through beauty and meaning.
Art Beyond Borders
In addition to his exhibitions, Mustafa Cemil Efe continues to make waves internationally. One of his notable works, “Taha,” is available for fractional ownership through Goldframer, enabling art enthusiasts and investors to engage with his work in a contemporary way. This initiative reflects a modern approach to preserving and appreciating Islamic art while making it accessible to a global audience.
Art lovers and enthusiasts of Islamic calligraphy are invited to visit the “Tecelli” exhibition at the Palace Collections Museum Art Gallery in Beşiktaş, Istanbul, to witness the culmination of Mustafa Cemil Efe’s artistic and spiritual journey.
