Immerse yourself in the world of Islamic art at the United States’ largest and longest-running festival of its kind. The Islamic Arts Festival returns to Houston for its eleventh year on November 9 and 10.
This lively celebration of culture and heritage invites everyone—from avid art lovers to those seeking fresh experiences—to discover an impressive array of artistic expressions that beautifully showcase the diverse richness of the Islamic world.

Organized by the Islamic Arts Society, the festival has grown tremendously over the years. Originally a modest gathering of talented artists displaying their work at a mosque in Spring, TX, it has now expanded to a new venue at the University of Houston for its upcoming event.
This family-friendly festival will also feature exciting new additions, including a comedy show, a film festival, and a live Sufi music concert by the renowned Al Firdaus Ensemble from Spain. While admission, workshops, and demonstrations remain free, select new events like the comedy show and Sufi concert will require tickets for entry.
Shaheen Rahman, Board President of the Islamic Arts Society and an Ebru artist, visited the studio to give a live demonstration of Ebru, the Turkish art of painting that produces breathtaking designs.
